A Gentle Dragon and Powerful Magic

I saw the movie, "Eragon" this weekend and was blown away! It is an awesome movie based on the book of the same name written by Christopher Paolini. Even more amazing, Christopher wrote the book when he was ONLY 15!

Because I liked the movie so much, I'm going to read all the books in the series, Inheritance Trilogy (book #3 is still in Christopher's head). If you've read Eragon AND seen the movie, how do they compare? Some people like Ergagon better than the Harry Potter movies. WDYT?

I've always been impressed that he wrote this at 15... it makes me wonder how many more brilliant young writers are out there who just haven't been discovered yet.

I didn't think that the movie was as good as the book. It just wasn't the same. Alot of kids at my school agree that the movie was not all that great.

I'll never understand why so many people are willing to overlook his really weak writing. He writes like a 15 year old and that's not a compliment.

I liked the books (Eragon and Eldest) and was excited about the movie but heard such bad reviews that I never went to see it. The bad reviews I heard were not just from critics but from people who loved the book and didn't like that movie and said that they ruined the plot and characters.

It has a very low rating in imdb (user ratings) and a 15% on rotten tomatoes (critics)

That type of movie can be done right, the first two Harry Potter movies the new Lord of the Rings movies all amazing. It sounds like this one was made by people who didn't read the book and were trying to make a quick buck!
